
Opportunities: (including brief role description) | Digital Champion To help residents take advantage of being online and enjoy the benefits the internet offers such as saving money, being in touch with friends and family and searching for jobs. The role is to: Meet residents within the community on a weekly basis to enable them to access digital devices such as tablets and personal computers; Help build residents confidence and self-esteem with using digital technology; Keep a good record of your work including reporting verbally to a supervisor and completing relevant forms; Adhere to Hope Community Project’s policies and procedures at all times especially with regard to safeguarding vulnerable people; Attend induction and training sessions delivered by Hope Community Project or another approved provider Requirements/Skills sought: Ability to use computers and IT equipment – to; have worked with/ understand the needs of a diverse community; confident to teach residents digital skills in a friendly and supportive manner; an excellent listener, empathic, caring; patient reliable and respectful of confidential information/ data; a positive attitude; can remain calm in challenging situations; ability to keep notes and report back to staff and manager; good verbal and written communication skills; a commitment to equal opportunities and ant discriminatory practices; approachable, mindful, non-judgmental and a good sense of humour. |
