NHS Responders Evaluation

Thanks to everyone who stepped forward locally in the last year to respond as volunteers to the Covid 19 situation.

We have been asked to help out with an evaluation for the NHS Volunteer Responders programme. So, if you were involved in any way with the programme, please take time to respond to the request below.

Did you participate in the NHS Volunteer Responders Scheme – GOODSAM?

Whether you’ve offered your time as a Volunteer Responder or accessed help and support from a Volunteer Responder, we would love to speak to you about your experience.

We are looking to interview a number of volunteers and residents that participated in the programme between March 2020 and March 2021. Your insights and experiences will be used to inform how future schemes are designed and improve the way national health partners work with local voluntary and community sector organisations.

If you are able to spare a few minutes, please could you contact Natasha on 07590 523 540 or click the link to email her at Natasha@kai-zenglobal.com with your name and contact number.

We’re only looking to speak to a handful of people from each of the five boroughs in the next fortnight. Are you happy to help out?

Happy 2021 and New Year everyone!

Wolverhampton Volunteer Centre is still open and helping you get into volunteering with whatever your journey and whatever your reasons.

Even under current restrictions, you can still volunteer. You can register on our web site and find volunteer opportunities to suit you. We can deal with queries over the telephone on 01902 328980 and can offer limited appointments if necessary.

Also, Our dedicated BBO ‘Building Better Opportunities’ Bridges Team are also here to help if you are over 25 and looking at help and support in getting back into employment. Volunteer Centre Update June 2020

Just a quick update on what’s been happening at The Volunteer Centre. In March, WVSC put a call out for volunteers to respond to the Covid 19 situation.

We have had over 600 people respond to help out to volunteer across Wolverhampton and our focus over the last few months has been in responding to this.

The good majority of these volunteers have been placed and have been helping some of the most vulnerable residents in our City.

The majority of organisations are now up to capacity for volunteers but we are still endeavouring to continue placing as many volunteers as possible. We thank everyone for their patience.

The Volunteer Centre is still offering a day to day service for volunteering, however, many organisations have suspended their volunteer recruitment due to the impact of Covid 19. So, once again, placements are taking a little longer to be offered.

Our BBO Bridges Project is still accepting referrals and continues to operate under these unique circumstances.

Organisations are slowly beginning to offer volunteer opportunities but it’s going to take a while for everyone to start operating at full capacity.

Thanks to everyone who has come forward at this moment in time and we look forward to working with you in the future and your volunteering journey.

Pete Emms: Volunteer Centre Coordinator.
