Lived Experience Volunteer.

Opportunity: Lived Experience Volunteer.
Each lived experience volunteer will provide short -term intervention (2-4 weeks) to clients referred form custody arrest referral team. Volunteers will connect with clients quickly, using their lived experience to build trust, relatability and motivation. The focus will be helping clients address barriers to treatment such as mental health, housing or practical concerns. The volunteer will gradually transfer the clients trust to the formal treatment provider, ensuring continuity of care. At all times, all volunteers will be supported by the volunteer coordinator.
Requirements: Lived experience and recovery within substance and alcohol misuse.
Volunteers will receive an induction and on-going training. Access to online and face to face training and mentoring within St Giles Trust.
Location: Local to the volunteer, Birmingham, Coventry and Wolverhampton (proximity to the custody suites to support clients and service users) Volunteers are also more than welcome. If preferred can travel across sites to support their service users.
Hours: Flexible Monday-Friday daytime
Expenses: Yes. Expenses paid on travel and other out of pocket expenses.

Opportunity: Street Outreach Buddy
As a Street Buddy, you will be involved in engaging outreach efforts, proving crucial support to individuals and contributing to meaningful projects, meeting external agencies and answering queries both on telephone and in person. Every day is unique, filled with opportunities to connect, learn and create lasting change

You will revied support form the team and opportunities to build skills and knowledge
Requirements: Empathy and excellent interpersonal skills, A proactive and reliable approach to volunteering, preferred experience (not required) Knowledge of housing law and regulations, lived experience of homelessness.

Polish Speaking Support Worker

Opportunity: Polish Speaking Support Worker
Support Polish speaking service users within the office and on outreach.
Supporting services users in their financial matters, issues with housing, peer support and other addiction support.
Requirements: Polish Speaker, Knowledge of addiction recovery, or in recovery minimum 6 months clear of chosen substance. You will receive induction and training .
Location: Suit Office, Paycare House, George Street, WV2 4DX and venues around the West Midlands as required.
Hours: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm plus occasional weekend work .3months minimum commitment

Peer led drug and alcohol support service. Supporting those interested in, or affected by addiction. Volunteer programme was awarded the Queens Award for Voluntary Service (in June 2014. This is the equivalent of an MBE. Also an approved provider for mentoring and befriending offenders.
