Children’s oral health educator volunteer.

Opportunity: Children’s oral health educator volunteer. We need volunteers who are willing to go along to their local nurseries, schools, childcare settings & organisations that work with young children and their families to deliver the project. We would really like to target areas of high social deprivation where oral health needs of children are often greater, therefore we are relying on volunteers’ local knowledge to target these areas. We would like volunteers to get in touch with schools, nurseries and groups to offer to go along and deliver the Brightbites programme. Support can be provided upon request. All resources to support the volunteer are provided and sent prior to the session, including a PowerPoint presentation, leaflets, stickers, posters, a mouth model, a t-shirt and toothbrush and toothpaste for every child seen.
Requirements: Confidence to provide an engaging session, no clinical qualifications required
Location: Local schools. Childcare settings/organisations
Hours: Monday-Friday daytime generally, can be weekends/school holidays if arranged

Community Liaison Volunteer

Opportunity: Community Liaison Volunteer Act as a contact point for referrals from healthcare professionals. Provide patients with appropriate Diabetes UK information such as leaflets. Tell patients about other Diabetes UK resources and services. Go to some diabetes clinics or other events, as agreed by doctors’ surgery.

Community drop in ,Youth club volunteer , Girls Youth group volunteer .

Opportunity: Community Drop in To volunteer with members of the local community in various activities connected with healthy lifestyle, improving English language skills and confidence building. Also to help with art and crafts sessions and sports activities for children and young people (All ages) Youth Club Volunteer To work with a range of sports, games and craft activities, depending on the skills of the volunteer. Big emphasis on befriending services and mentoring young people to build aspirations and guide them through struggles of school and day to day life. Opportunity: Energy Champion At Act on Energy, we are looking for Individuals who’s Passions are aligned with This Charity’s in the form of Aiding vulnerable people and families within the community .At Act on energy we enable and support you through your journey as an Energy Champion. We will provide you with coaching and support, in order to fulfil your role. Some duties will include offering advice and Guidance (IAG) and delivering this advice at various Hubs and workshops across our areas of operation.

**Circles of Support &Accountability Volunteer**

Opportunity: Circles of Support and Accountability Volunteer Circle Volunteers meet with the Core Member (person convicted of a sexual offence) on a weekly basis for around 1.5 hours. During these sessions you will work with Core Member to help them reintegrate into their local community .This might involve building their social skills, helping them to find work or accommodation or developing pro-social hobbies and interests. After each meeting, member of the circle will be expected to write brief minutes of meeting and forward these to the Circles Coordinator within 24 hours of the meeting taking place. Volunteers will need to alert the Circles Coordinator immediately to any emerging risk issues noted by the Circles.
Requirements: Volunteers will need to attended two full days of training before commencing their role (Training usually takes place over weekend days).Provide accurate and timely minutes of Circle meetings. Communicate any concerns or risk issues you are aware of to the Coordinator or other relevant professional .Comply with the organisations policies
Location: Circles meet at community venues, the location of which will vary depending on the core member. Typically venues include community centres, faith group buildings or cafes.
Hours: 2 hours a week for 18 months, (plus initial 2 full days training.)
Expenses: Yes .Travel will be reimbursed for public transport and mileage. Taxis will only be reimbursed where taxi travel has been agreed as a reasonable adjustment.

Next they find the right sources of support and arrange for clients to access it .This might be funds for special equipment for someone with a disability, adaptions to a property so an older client can remain at home or funds for a rental deposit . Caseworkers also signpost clients onto specialist local services for advice on benefits, housing, mental health, debt, finding work etc.
	Requirements: The essential part of the role is visiting clients, you will need access to a vehicle or another way to travel to meet clients at home or in a care home setting. You will also receive On-line or face to face instructor led training and e-learning modules

Female Volunteers We need volunteers to support our outreach team by working alongside us on our weekly outreach sessions across Wolverhampton and Walsall .These sessions facilitate and encourage easy access for those with complex needs. To support the team by engaging with and supporting service users who are involved in or at risk of sexual exploitation, survival sex, sex work and homelessness .To provide support to encourage service users where they are reluctant to engage. Develop a robust knowledge of all services and options for people to access. Understanding of the complexities some of the individuals may face. Reliable, organised, consistent and have an ability to handle a level of stress and ability to respect and maintain confidentiality.
	Location: Meeting and drop off point: The Workspace, All Saints Road, Wolverhampton WV2 1EL .This session is facilitated by car .You will be collected from and dropped off at the named location.

NSPCC Schools Service Volunteer (Closing date 28th February 2024)

	Opportunity: NSPCC Schools Service Volunteer We are looking for new volunteers to be Speak out, Stay safe Volunteers. You will visit primary schools to deliver Speak out, Stay safe workshops that teaches children about the different types of abuse and how they can speak out and stay safe. The workshops are age appropriate and memorable and need an energetic and enthusiastic person to deliver them. You will work alongside other Speak out , Stay safe volunteers to make sure at the end of each session the children feel empowered and know who they can speak out to if they are worried . In some sessions children may speak up and disclose abuse, so you will also be required to sensitively handle this and report any concerns you have about the child. But don’t worry you will get plenty of support and training on this. When you volunteer with us, you will get lots of initial training, which includes practice sessions, home study, multiple visits to schools to help you learn which includes practice sessions, homes study and multiple visits to schools to help you learn workshop materials. When you start delivering the sessions, support will be on offer from both your supervisor and other experienced volunteers.

Social Interaction Facilitator

	Opportunity: Supporting CT staff on the ‘Lets Chat’ project to meet and greet with members of the public, offer them tea and coffee and generally be willing and able to sit down and chat with people , offer them a friendly eat and with Training, be able to signpost them to other services that third party partners are offering . These activities are taking place in three ways: Mobile Unit –A number of our minibuses are being converted, to allow space for chairs and table, a place to make hot beverages and information boards containing information about local service .Across the week these mobile units will visit a number of pre-determined places within the local community and park up for a number of hours, allowing members of the public to come on board, meet people and speak with representatives from several organisations offering their services. The purpose of this project is to reduce loneliness and Isolation for local residents. We are looking for volunteers to join us and participate in this project by meeting people and providing a friendly ear to listen and to join in conversation. The same service is being offered in static bus station buildings and generally across our Passenger Service.
	Requirements: Friendly outgoing, sympathetic, a good listener.
	Location: The project is set across three main areas, which are Coventry, Mid-Birmingham and the Black Country .The Black country will encompass Wolverhampton, Dudley and Sandwell. The mobile units will travel around the Black Country on set days Station sites in Dudley and West Bromwich .Our Passenger service locations vary.
	Hours: The Lets Chat project is operational between Monday-Saturday and the hours of 08.30-6.30pm.
