Opportunity: Community Drop in
To volunteer with members of the local community in various activities connected with healthy lifestyle, improving English language skills and confidence building. Also to help with art and crafts sessions and sports activities for children and young people (All ages)
Youth Club Volunteer
To work with a range of sports, games and craft activities, depending on the skills of the volunteer. Big emphasis on befriending services and mentoring young people to build aspirations and guide them through struggles of school and day to day life. (Ages 10-18 years)
Girls Youth Group (Female Leaders only)
To support young girls to feel included, safe and supported in society and within their community. To help run workshops on specific tasks and topics tackling barriers young girls face today (Ages 11-18)
Requirements : Friendly, approachable, happy to join in and enjoys meeting and talking with other adults and children. Reliable and trustworthy.
Flexible/Open Ended. A weekly commitment preferred however can be less often depending on availability of the volunteer. This will be discussed.

Opportunity: Volunteer Community sports coach
Volunteers who are recruited onto the personal development programme will support our community sport sessions where we provide positive sporting activities to young people in the community.
Volunteers will be required to support the delivery of sessions including:
• Setting up activity areas
• Delivering sport activities
• Providing guidance and acting as a positive role model to young people
• Potentially some admin tasks such as registers.
Requirements: Any person who either has an interest in sports coaching or would like to support positive change in young people through mentoring. There will be an informal induction and training throughout the programme.
Location: Oxley , Bushbury , Low Hill
Hours: Monday-Saturdays (evenings and Saturday afternoons) There is no fixed duration as volunteers can commit to suit their availability.

Book Club Volunteer, Fishing Volunteer & Swimming Volunteer

Opportunity:
Book Club Volunteer.
Volunteers needed to support a book club. We meet once a month, on a Thursday at Beacon Centre Sedgley. You will need to have an interest in reading and be comfortable communicating with people and supporting with providing refreshments. It is a very relaxed and enthusiastic group with a great passion for reading.
Fishing Volunteers.
We currently fish once a month on a Wednesday .Our volunteers need to be confident in handing fish and bait and just generally supporting our members. It is a very relaxed role at Albright on Fishing Moat .All equipment is provided.
Swimming Volunteers. This role is Currently filled
Volunteers needed to help support our members from the minibus to the centre, assist them round the changing rooms and to the lockers and guide them to the poolside. You have the option whether you want to go into the pool or not .There is always a qualified swimming instructor in the pool. You are not expected to teach anyone to swim .You not expected to help anyone get changed .all members are independent but need support getting round a new environment.

You will use your professional skills and lived experience to help groups overcome operational challenges, become better equipped for the future, and tackle inequality in sport. Most of our roles are quite flexible and work around your schedule. We do our best to only share opportunities we think are relevant to you .With most of our volunteering support being delivered digitally, it’s even easier to get started supporting members across our network. Our roles include: Short term placements-Focused on one topic area or specific challenge, placements usually last about 6 months and encompass multiple topics or a single complex subject. One off support – Kick-starter are semi-structured, informal chats to learn more about a group’s strengths and challenges, and recommend a course of action. Specific project work, facilitating/delivering webinars and training, or supporting sported itself plus much more!
Requirements: Our volunteers have 3 or more year’s professional and or lived experience in any of the lived core support topics: Evaluation and Impact. Facilities. Financial Management .Fundraising &Income Generation. Governance .Inclusion. Leadership Coaching, Marketing/PR Planning (Business/Strategic) Project Planning Sport Development, Volunteer &Staff Management, Women and Girls. Other skills or lived experience that might be applicable. There is an induction and training provided.

Activities Volunteer

Supporting members on Activities.
Opportunity:
Sighted Guide: Assisting members on wellbeing walks.
Bowling Assistant: Being a sighted guide/bringing the bowling balls to members and taking them to the lane. Offering encouragement and being as descriptive as possible to support members at the bowling alley to aim in the correct direction in order to hit all the pins.
Shooting Range: We require volunteers to assist and load pellets. Training will be provided by the shooting range. Need to offer guidance and assistance to members with the sound and laser equipment used. A copy of the league rules will be given to volunteers to assist our member should they want to participate in the winter shooting league. Need to be patient and offer our members encouragement. Score cards, and results will be given out at the end by relevant staff. Training will be provide at the Shooting range.
Tennis: We require sighted guides to team up with groups and individuals to offer encouragement , build confidence in the sport, be patient, support with set up and packing away , collecting balls, being descriptive with our members and having a general friendly encouraging approach.
Requirements: Someone that is active. Has a friendly and encouraging approach and someone that may have worked with people with disabilities previously would be an advantage. It is important to be descriptive as possible to prove our members with the relevant support when participating in activities .Induction and training provided.

Hours: Sighted Guide: Wellbeing Walks Bantock Park every Wednesday 11-1pm until the end of August.
