Opportunity : As a trustee of our board, you will be expected to: (a) actively contribute in discussions and provide strategic direction to The Old School, agreeing goals, targets, policy, and evaluating performance (b) ensure BACF delivers efficient services, (c) ensure that our values and vision are upheld in all of the decisions and decision-making processes of the board.
Requirements :We are looking for people with skills in the following areas: (1) finance, particularly development finance; (2) strategic and business planning; (3) funding experience; (4) experience of private, social or community led projects; (5) taking notes/minutes and or(6) chairing meetings. Applications of interest are welcome from members of community led organisations or people with community development background/experiences. Induction training will be provided for new board members.
Location :Meetings held at The Old School or via Zoom
Hours: Meetings are held during the working week, 6.30pm – 7.30 pm. We are looking for at least 1 – 2 year’s commitment, ideally longer.

BACF is a place where individuals and groups in the community, private and statutory sectors can hire rooms for (social) meetings, training courses, workshops, rehearsals, activities, and events on a daily or regular basis throughout the week.

Independent Non-Executive Director (Volunteer)

Opportunity: Independent Non-Executive Director (Volunteer) We are seeking an Independent Non -Executive Director to strengthen governance, provide oversight and act as an independent safeguard for funders. • Provide independent oversight and constructive challenge. • Act in the best interests of the CIC and its community purpose • Attend and contribute to quarterly board meetings • Support compliance with Companies House, the CIC Regulator and funder requirements. • Act as an authorised bank signatory, as required by grant funders • Review and approve key strategic decisions and policies • Uphold standards of accountability, transparency and integrity
Requirements: Independent (not related to or financially dependent on, existing directors) Is willing to be appointed as a Director on Companies House. Is comfortable acting as an independent bank signatory. Understands the difference between governance and operations. This role is non -executive and governance -only. It is not involved in day-to-day delivery.
Location: Meetings are primary remote, with occasional-in person meetings in the West Midlands if agreed
Hours: Around four board meetings per year. Occasional ad hoc review. Initial 12-month term with the option to extend by mutual agreement

Scouts Trustee

Opportunity: Scouts Trustee Trustees are a team of volunteers who make decisions and work together to ensure scouts runs smoothly, safely and legally. They do a variety of different things. • Make sure Scouts has enough money for activities • Make sure local Scouts groups follow the rules • Complete any necessary admin • Check we are aligning with to Scout Values • Help Scouts run activities with young people the saftest way possible • Check the equipment and building are looked after • Meet new people and make friends
Requirements: You will be interested in helping young people get skills for life, don’t mind working with and talking to people, you’re a bit creative or like to find solutions to problems ,you like being organised , if you have helped lead a project before this will help you but we don’t expect to have prior experience , You don’t need to have been in Scouts before . (If you are unsure , we can put you in touch with a local Trustee to speak to them about the role .

Volunteer Treasurer (Director/Trustee)

Opportunity:Volunteer Treasurer (Director/Trustee) Exercise a governance/strategic leadership role at a major Wolverhampton Charity and Social Enterprise by: Attending six weekly Board meetings, attending sub groups in between Board meetings and undertaking the treasurer on behalf of the whole Board of trustees. This will involve overseeing the monitoring of the organisations finances on behalf of the whole board of trustees, to report regularly on them to the board and to make sure that money and property are properly manged. To act as bank signatory and support the ASAN Finance Manager. The treasurer will ensure that bookkeeping, record keeping and budgeting are done properly. Full training and induction is provided including roles responsibilities of charity trustees and company directors and background on ASAN including visiting all our community business and services .
Requirements: ASAN is particularly seeking a director/trustee with understanding and knowledge of financial management or accountancy practitioner 6-8 meetings per year at 2-3 hours each and preparation / reading time of around 8-10 hours.
Location: All activities takes place in the All Saints Neighbourhood of Wolverhampton. Board meetings take place in The Workspace, on All Saints Road
Hours: Board meetings take place on Tuesdays or Thursdays at 6pm .The sub groups meet at various times including daytimes meetings and evenings (after6pm).There will be an annual business and strategic planning event- normally requiring trustees to devote half day plus 2 hours preparation.

	Opportunity: Treasurer Work with the chair and Secretary to ensure the financial health and accountability of the Friends of Bantock charity. Maintain the Friends bank account and process and monitor all payments and receipts. Prepare the annual statement of income and expenditure for approval at AGM. Process Gift Aid forms to maximise income from member’s subscriptions and other donations .Provide routine quarterly financial updates to the Friends Committee .Monitor payments of annual subscription renewals in liaison with Membership Secretary. The Friends of Bantock is a small charity run entirely , including the committee of 7 , by volunteers .There are 22 volunteers who carry out gardening , litter picking and money raising projects .We were given the Queens Award for Voluntary service in 2021
