
Wellbeing Support Volunteer
| Opportunity: Wellbeing Support Volunteer Provide direct support and encouragement to adults (primary older adults) engaged in wellbeing and therapeutic activities. Facilitate social inclusion, encourage participation and help individuals develop confidence and skills. Enable access to community-based opportunities, peer support and promote independence. Record progress report concerns, and work collaboratively with other team members and external partners as appropriate Person Specification. Empathy good communication and interpersonal skills. Experience supporting vulnerable adults or those with additional skills Experience supporting vulnerable adults or those with additional needs is desirable. Ability to promote independence and safeguard welfare. (May required to volunteer in evenings/weekends) | |
| Requirements: Lived experience, personal experience of navigating mental health challengers or complex health and social care system, which can be shared to inspire hope in others. Local knowledge, familiarity with the communities and voluntary sector in Wolverhampton. Previous experience in volunteering in health &social care or community-based support role. The ability to speak other languages relevant to the diverse communities in Wolverhampton | |
| Location: Wolverhampton Wellbeing Hub 10 Caledonia Street WV14 6AE , however volunteers will also have opportunity to work form other Hub across the City of Wolverhampton as Talking Point. | |
| Hours: Volunteers can commit to between 2 and 5 days per week. Volunteering shifts can take place at any time between 10:00am and 4:00 pm Mondays -Friday | |
