Opportunity : CIRV Volunteer Mentor (Community Initiative to Reduce Violence) We are looking for Volunteer mentors who can be a positive role model for a young person or adult at risk who has been within the criminal justice system. This could involve being a listening ear, supporting them to pursue an interest or hobby or helping the young person get more involved in their community, education or employment, to deter them away from criminal justice system. You are not there to tell them what to do, your role is to explore options with them, support them to make good decisions and act as transfer of trust between the young person and other agencies. | |
Requirements: We are looking for people who are passionate about working and young people, interested in giving back to their community and who believe in second chances .We will provide you with extensive training for this role, including a Level 2 Mentoring qualification. | |
Location: Either Coventry (Wood End) or Wolverhampton (Graiseley). Based at CIRV offices or meeting the mentee in the Community | |
Hours: Days/hours to be discussed with Volunteer Placement Contact/Manger. Minimum 6 months/Maximum 12 months. | |
