Fundraising Volunteers.

Opportunity: Fundraising Volunteer within the BCWA fundraising team, assisting with their day-to-day activity. Principle responsibilities include supporting the team with processing donations, ensuring storage areas are kept clean and organised, helping with occasional office tasks, engaging with your local community, assisting with collections and being appreciative of the impact donations and fundraising have. We provide a full induction and full training for all our volunteers, proportionate to their role.
Requirements: Passionate about the work BCWA does, Enthusiastic Keen to make a difference, Friendly and welcoming. Willing to learn and raise awareness. Confident communicator who enjoys community engagement. Happy to be flexible and able to keep motivated. A good understanding of manual handing and risks attached. Creative and innovative. Reliable, open and honest.
Location: Landchard House, Victoria Street, West Bromwich, B70 8HY
Hours: 2-4 hours, monthly-flexible. Can be more or less regularly depending on your availability.

Collection Host

Opportunity: Collection Host Your local Community Fundraiser will liaise with you regarding what sites and dates you are able to support us with, typically these are Feb-April for our Great Daffodil Appeal, and we also run summer/autumn collection and Christmas collections. Collection Hosts will complete the following tasks: Liaise with the local fundraising team regarding the logistics of the collection day. Raise awareness of the collection locally to assist with collector recruitment to help fill rotas. This could be on social media pages or your own contacts. Build relationships with the venues and help to secure dates of future collections. Contact volunteers before the collection to confirm arrangements for the day. Be the main point of contact for volunteers on the day of our collections, giving out materials and answering questions to ensure the best experience for collectors. Process income after the collection inline with the relevant Marie Curie and venue policies. This can include banking money, processing paperwork and thanking the store and volunteers. Full training will be provided, and you will be given the tools to help you in your role, for example collection materials and an ID card.
Requirements: Be organised, be enthusiastic, love being around people, have great communication skills.

Charity Promoter & Events Volunteer

Opportunity: Charity Promoter & Events Volunteer We are looking for volunteers to help engage with our staff and community, promote our purpose and support our event. You could be doing anything from having a stand at the hospital site, walking the wards/department talking to staff, being out at community locations talking to public about the work of the charity, welcoming participants, helping set up events, selling merchandise or cheering on our fundraisers.
Requirements: Be comfortable approaching and speaking to members of the public, be welcoming and friendly to all visitors and know when to respect person boundaries, engage with local business and companies to support our appeals and provide them with fundraising merchandise to assist them in their effects. South Staffordshire Narrow Boat

Opportunity: Crew Members and or Skippers To operate the Ernest Thomas II during canal boat trips for the elderly, disabled etc . Full training will be given free of charge to NCBA qualification. Administration To help with bookings etc Fund Raising Due to the age of the boat, we are trying to raise £200,000 over the next two years to fund a new all electric boat. Maintenance The maintenance of Ernest Thomas II and mooring involving cleaning, painting, electrical and mechanical repairs as needed.
Requirements: No experience required .crewing can be a little physical other than a willing pair of hands and a smile on your face.
Location: The Ernest Thomas II is moored in Castlecroft Lane WV3 8JU. Canal trips are run north to Aldersley , as far south as The Round Oak Pub in Wombourne all are return trips.
Hours: Volunteers can choose which days/trips to take part in. The trips are run on a seasonal basis normally from the end of March through to end of October. Trips will either commence at 10am and finish at 4.00pm depending on the length of the trip and how busy the canal is during the summer. In addition in 2025 we hop to be running Festive/Xmas trips in December

Opportunities: (including brief role description)	Woodland Walk Organiser You will help organise a Woodland Walk to raise funds for its Woodland House Appeal, to bring a brand-new, purpose-built bereavement centre to the hospital for families experiencing pregnancy or baby loss. This sponsored walk will be one of a series of local, community -run walks taking place across the Midlands in a local park, a nearby country park or a favourite nature trail. You can personalise the walk to your community with Kids Activity Zones, catering, remembrance ceremonies etc. The Regional Fundraiser will support you. Your duties will be to: Investigate and decide on a suitable walk venue & route; Complete a Risk Assessment for the event; Promote via social media, posters, leaflets, local press Complete all relevant event planning documents; Recruit volunteers and helpers to help run the event; Contact and welcome registrants, remind them to raise sponsorship /set up a Just Giving page to raise donations; Organise ‘on the day’ activities and send out instructions to attendees and volunteers prior to the event; Keep accurate records of all participants and volunteers, in line with data protection/ GDPR guidelines; Source local sponsorship to help cover the event cost; Send a thank you to attendees & volunteers post event; Send all donations raised to the Charity after the event.
