Polish Speaking Support Worker

Opportunity: Polish Speaking Support Worker
Support Polish speaking service users within the office and on outreach.
Supporting services users in their financial matters, issues with housing, peer support and other addiction support.
Requirements: Polish Speaker, Knowledge of addiction recovery, or in recovery minimum 6 months clear of chosen substance. You will receive induction and training .
Location: Suit Office, Paycare House, George Street, WV2 4DX and venues around the West Midlands as required.
Hours: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm plus occasional weekend work .3months minimum commitment

Peer led drug and alcohol support service. Supporting those interested in, or affected by addiction. Volunteer programme was awarded the Queens Award for Voluntary Service (in June 2014. This is the equivalent of an MBE. Also an approved provider for mentoring and befriending offenders.

Opportunity: Volunteer Translator-Nationwide/Remote
Would you like to use your translation skills to support survivors of modern slavery?
Many of our service users don’t use English as their first language and reply on high quality translation to understand information.
We are looking for volunteers who can accurately translate English text into any of the languages: Mandarin, Bengali, Arabic, Amharic, French, Albanian, Vietnamese, Romanian, Polish, Tigrinya, Punjab, Urdu and Hindi.
Requirements: To hold a translating or interpreting qualification or to hold a degree ( in any subject) and be fluent in speaking and writing in English and one or more of the languages above , have excellent command of English and other languages ,grammatical accuracy, excellent proof reading skills ,excellent IT skills, able to work independently, excellent communication skills, ability to maintain confidentiality , need to be 18 years old or over , must have use of own computer .
Location: Remote from home
Hours: Flexible, we ask for a 6-month commitment after training
Expenses: Yes Reasonable, agreed expenses are reimbursed in line with our expenses policy
DBS: Yes, Basic DBS
