Volunteer Puppy Parent

Opportunity: Volunteer Puppy Parent Canine Partners are looking for caring family homes to raise, socialise and train puppies and young dogs up to their age of 18 months old. • Be available for and attend training session that will involve home visits, virtual online training, one-to-ones and regular group puppy training classes. • Regular visits within your local community to various environments to expose the puppy to the following conditions in order to socialise them, busy town environments, car travel , public transport etc. • With our guidance and support teach you the fundamentals of puppy socialisation as well as simple commands and exercise, home behaviour, social behaviour, walking on a lead, off lead exercise and general obedience.
Requirements: Reside in a house/bungalow/ground floor flat with secure garden (not shared) At home for most of the day and live within 45 minutes of the requested location. Time to provide the puppy with socialisation and education it needs to prepare for advanced training.

Opportunity: Volunteer Photography To be a professional photographer or be able to show us a portfolio of experience. • Adhoc photoshoots which will be primary will be based at our national Training Centre but may also be on location • Opportunity to photograph newborn litters, dogs in training and partnerships as well as event photography. • Editing images for use within promotional materials and on digital channels images taken will be licenced for use and owned by Cannie Partners. Foster Parents, Fosterer, Long Term Fostering

Opportunity: Foster Parents, Fosterer, Long-Term fostering Foster Parents: support our Puppy Parents satellites and or Caine Partners mums/broods. They provide short terms care and holiday cover for puppies/dogs from 8 weeks. To maintain basic training and behaviour plans for their development age, such as toilet training and loose lead walking. Fosterer: To support our Advanced Training Team with short term care for dogs in advanced stage of training, maintaining basic training and behaviour in the home. We ask that you live in a 30min commute distance from the National Training centre. We ask that you can commute to and from the training centre between 8-9:30 am and 4-5pm Long-Term Fostering: Dogs which fall into this category may have been partnered or withdrawn. We ask you to care for a dog, full time in your home.

Breeding Dog Volunteer This role is now suspended

Opportunity: Breeding Dog Volunteer As a breeding dog volunteer, you will provide a full time, loving home for one of our guide dog mums, you will help keep her in top condition and health for her vital role, while also getting to enjoy all the benefits of a well-behaved loving dog. You will support your guide dog mum throughout her pregnancy and during her birth at home. You will then help to take care of her puppies during their seven weeks of life until they are ready to move onto the next stage of their guide dog journey.
Requirements: Need to live within hours drive of our national centre, you will need to have a car and be able to travel to our National centre. Your home will need an area suitable for your guide dog mum to give birth and need access to a secure garden. Volunteers attended an Induction Training Day at our National before their guide do mum is placed with them. Once matched with a guide dog, we then run an 8-week dog training class course, usually on Thursday morning at the national centre. The classes are an hour long. You will received all training you need for the role and you will have full support of our expert dog behaviour and welfare team and dedicated 24/7 support from our specialist breeding team.
Location: This role is available to volunteers in the Wolverhampton area who lives within an hour drive of the Guide Dogs National Centre, just outside Leamington Spa, CV33 9QJ
Hours: Our guide dog mum will come to you when she is 12-14 months old and will be with you until she retires at about 7 years old. You will have the opportunity to keep her as your own dog.
Expenses: Yes, we cover all the cost for our guide dog mum, including her food, vet bills and equipment or bedding she needs.

Vegan Community Organiser

Opportunity: Every month you will be sent a collection of tasks to choose from. We create these from our programme of campaigns. You would be the point of contact for Advocates in your area, sharing these tasks and coordinating activities, such as stalls and lobbying councillors. We will provide you with a campaign toolkit and be in regular contact with you to ensure you have everything you need. You will also be invited to our private Facebook group and WhatsApp chat. We would expect you to provide any updates from your group and give feedback on each task on each task. You will also be responsible for welcoming new advocates in your area, we will let you know when somebody applies, and you will help them to get involved with any activities. As the main contact for Advocates this role does require some awareness of safeguarding and data protection procedures and policy. You will also be health and safety contact for your group. There will be full training on your role in this, as well as a handbook and ongoing guidance and support.
Requirements: Great organisational skills, experience of working to specific dates and deadlines and experience of coordinating people. Ability to motivate people around the topic of veganism. When a new Advocate applies to work with you, we would like them to be contacted within seven days
Location: From Volunteers own local area around the West Midlands
Hours: You should be able to commit around two days a month to carry out actions and this usually spread out across the month and commitment of 6 months

Vegan Community Advocate

Opportunity: Being an Advocate for Veganism with The Vegan Society will mean communicating with people in your local community. You will share the benefits of a vegan lifestyle. You will stay in touch with the Organiser and bring your passion to tasks. Activities can range from staffing a stall to giving a talk at an employee events , writing to a local newspaper or lobbying an MP. Messaging can differ every month. Opportunity: Fostering has all the benefits of caring for a dog without the expense and long-term commitment. All you need is a loving home and patience for our dogs, we cover the costs of everything form food to vets care .There is no need to travel as we bring the dogs to our carers and register them with a vet nearby. Previous dog ownership/experience preferable but not required. Volunteer pack is given and support is available throughout the foster carers time with us .This is in form of home visits, training and phone support.

Cat Foster Carer

Opportunity: Cat Foster Carer Paws Protect offers temporary foster care for Cats whose owners are fleeing domestic abuse, the service enables both survivors and their pets to get to safety and then aims to reunite them once the owner has secure housing in place. Our volunteers care for the Cat/s in their own homes, providing peace of mind to families fleeing domestic abuse who know their feline friends are receiving the care and attention they need. The service is unique in that we offer long term foster placements of 5 months or more, asking our volunteers to allow the cats/s access to their whole home, whilst keeping them indoor only due to safety. Due to the nature of the role , we ask that our foster carers have no free roaming pets, but if you have animals in your home who reside in tanks or cages we can discuss this
Requirements: Basic knowledge of cats and cat care .An appreciation of cat hygiene standards. Good interpersonal skills .Patience , perseverance and empathy and willingness to be part of a team
