Magical Mind Assistant Coach

Opportunity: Supporting Lead Magical Mind Coach with running Best Version of Me Sessions. This includes doing activities that help develop physical, mental and social health. This incudes Boxercise, Dodge Ball, Bench Ball, Circuit Training etc, running activities that help children develop a growth mindset and finally teaching young people confidence and communication skills.
Support Magical MC CIC design future programmes for young people that helps develop physical, mental and social health this will include conducting research with young people to understand what they would like to be included in future programmes.
Support with promotion and enrolment, using social media and other marketing tools .
Requirements: preferably have a driving licence and access to car, enjoy working with young people aged 8-15 years old. Have an interest in sport and be active themselves, must have good communication skills and be able to build a good connection with young people.

Opportunity: Volunteer Tutor (English or Maths):
We recruit, train and deploy volunteer English and Math’s tutors who work with small groups of largely Pupil Premium children for an hour a week during term time in our partner schools, face-to -face or online.
The online option means that volunteers can make a positive difference from their own home, whilst meeting people from all over the country and walks of life.
We have volunteers from a wide range of backgrounds, retired professionals, unemployed people, stay at home parents and undergraduates.
We run tutor socials and encourage interaction, teamwork and friendship.
Each program in every school has a dedicated Program Coordinator who supports our volunteers. Tutoring resources and training are provided.
Requirements: Enthusiastic about working with Children or young people, want to make a difference and are fluent in English. Good communication skills would be an advantage. We prefer those who have or are studying for a degree (in any subject) or have a B grade (or above) at A Level (or equivalent) in these requirements, we still encourage you to apply. We take all previous experience into consideration and your motivations for volunteering with us, please include anything you think might be relevant. There Initial Tutor Training (2 hours by zoom) followed by programme specific training when you sign up to a tutor in a school, plus optional on demand subject specific training too .
Location: In person at partner school or homebased online
Hours: One hour a week before, during or after the school day in term time. Programme typically run for 10,15 or 20 weeks and tutoring takers place on the same day at the same time

The Access Project supports pupils from under-resourced back grounds to access top universities. We are looking for undergraduates, postgraduates, staff and alumni who would be able to tutor a young person aged 14-16, online.
• Support a young person in a subject of your choice to achieve the GCSE grade they deserve and to fulfil their potential.
• Build transferable skills, experience and knowledge through ongoing training and development as part of the role.
• Students supported by The Access project typically achieve a grade higher at GCSE and are twice more likely than their peers to progress to a top-third ranked university.
We will match you with a student who is looking for support in your subject.
Requirements: No prior teaching or tutoring experience. Either be currently studying for an undergraduate degree or have an undergraduate degree/equivalent professional qualification. Either have A Level subject or an undergraduate degree in a subject you wish to tutor at GCSE level. Sign up any of our 2.5-hour training session.
Be able to spare one hour a week in school term over the next academic year to tutor (starting Sept/Oct2024) plus 30mins a week preparation time.

Requirements: Have an interest in helping children to play creatively, nurture their imagination and discover their potential. Are committed to equity, access and inclusion. Hours: Flexible hours during project. Minimum of 1 hour per day plus participation in the training and planning day before that set sessions.

To work with a range of sports, games and craft activities, depending on the skills of the volunteer. Big emphasis on befriending services and mentoring young people to build aspirations and guide them through struggles of school and day to day life. (Ages 10-18 years)
Girls Youth Group (Female Leaders only)
To support young girls to feel included, safe and supported in society and within their community. To help run workshops on specific tasks and topics tackling barriers young girls face today (Ages 11-18)
Requirements : Friendly, approachable, happy to join in and enjoys meeting and talking with other adults and children. Reliable and trustworthy.
Flexible/Open Ended. A weekly commitment preferred however can be less often depending on availability of the volunteer. This will be discussed.

Opportunity: Get out there Group Volunteer
GOT groups are a growing division of Sense that cater for children between 6 and 16 with complex needs.
We provide a 4-hour social setting which caters for children and families who need respite. We offer activities such as games, puzzles, arts and crafts, experiments, cooking and sensory play. We aim to tailor sessions to the needs, interests and abilities of the children we support and put pupil voice at the centre of all we do.
As a volunteer you will make sure everyone has a great time and can make most of the activities on offer. You will need lots of energy, a warm and welcoming personality and to be happy getting stuck into a wide range of tasks and activities all of what everyone has the best day they can together
Requirements: Fun and friendly and confident to meet and spend time with disabled people. Willing to develop the knowledge and skills to communicate with young people who have mufti sensory impairments and may use a wide range of communication methods. Able to work well in a team and be flexible about the role you play during the day depending on what’s needed by individuals and activities. Reliable and punctual.
