Bowling Volunteers ,Walking Volunteers

Opportunity: Bowling Volunteers
Volunteers are needed to assist and support our visually and blind bowlers. Volunteers will support bowlers by guiding them to the lanes, helping with positioning etc. We visit Castlegate, Dudley on a Friday once a month .
Walking Volunteers
Volunteers are needed to help support visually impaired people to walk round a secure outdoor environment. Some of our members need guides, which will be the volunteers main role. We walk once a month on a Friday (usually the fourth Friday of the month) around West Park for an hour at a slow steady pace, stopping at a café for refreshments after walk . Must be happy to engage/chat with the members on the walk.
Location: Bowling Volunteers : Castlegate Dudley
Walking Volunteers: West Park, Connaught Road gate entrance

Walking Volunteers : Last Friday of each month 11am-12

Opportunity: Creative Communities Welcome Volunteer
Providing a warm welcome for parents and their children attending their creative workshops at their local Family Hub. Supporting the artist and community ambassador to deliver the art workshops, including setting up the session materials and furniture and clearing away materials at the end. Helping the entertain the children who attend with their parents with suitable art activities provided and toys.
Family Hub are: Rocket Pool, Graisley, Low Hill, Childrens Village, Dove, Whitmore Reans, Eastfield, Bingley
Requirements: Customer Service, Events support, children and families. Also available Council Training – bitesize training in health and safety, Equalities and customer service.
Location: Rocket Pool: Wednesdays 9am-12noon until 19th June
Graiseley: Fridays 9am to 12 noon until 28th June
Low Hill: Friday 12 -3pm until 28th June
Childrens Village: Mondays 9am-12noon from 8th April to 12 August
Dove: Tuesday 9am-12noon from 24th June to 30 September
Bingley: Tuesday 11:30am -2:30 pm from 25th June to 15th October
Hours: commitment 4 hours per week for 17 weeks

Creative Communities has created an artist led programme for parents who feel lonely by using arts and crafts as medium to express themselves, socialise and improve their well being

Opportunity: Women’s only Group
To support and get involved in a wide variety of activities including light exercise, crafts, befriending and guidance.
Have you got a specific craft skill you would like to run at the Women’s group, we would love to hear more! (All Ages, Women’s Only Group but nurturing male leaders are welcome)
Parents & Toddler Group
Support in engaging with babies and toddlers whilst the parents can relax with drinks and some snacks, giving them much needed to unwind ( Aged 0-4)
Food Project /Bank
Supporting the general running of the food bank with loading and unloading food trays, supporting members as they collect food, supporting the food bank café for members to access and befriending service, being a listening ear to peoples struggles and engaging in social interaction.
Requirements: Friendly, approachable, happy to join in and enjoys meeting and talking with other adults and children. Reliable and trustworthy.

Hours: Flexible/Open Ended. A weekly commitment preferred however can be less often depending on availability of the volunteer. This will be discussed.

Opportunity: Employability Support (Face to Face)
As an Employability Support Volunteer, you will help participants build their confidence motivation and self esteem through increasing their skills in employability-related activities. From sharing CV writing techniques to supporting them while they are in employment, you will assist the frontline colleagues throughout the participant’s journey. This role could include Supporting participants to improve their CV and cover letters and sharing how to tailor these to job specifications. Offering guidance with applications and supporting statements to supplement their CV. Identifying someone’s transferable skills and how to make the most of these in job applications. Developing the participants online presence and personal branding using websites like LinkedIn, supporting job searches. Conducting mock interviews and helping participants prepare through quality feedback. maintaining support when participants start a new job.
Requirements: Understanding of employability sector and skills needed to gain employment, Good interpersonal and communication skills. Have an empathetic approach Awareness of barriers faced by participants who have faced disadvantages such as disabilities, care leavers and mental health. Understanding of data protection and GDPR. IT skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office software.
Location: Eastfields Community Centre, Eastfiled, Wolverhampton, WV1 2QY
Hours: Minimum two hours a fortnight commitment. Role is long term, but we don’t have minimum duration. Days and times to be confirmed with volunteer

We need volunteers to support our outreach team by working alongside us on our weekly outreach sessions across Wolverhampton and Walsall .These sessions facilitate and encourage easy access for those with complex needs.
To support the team by engaging with and supporting service users who are involved in or at risk of sexual exploitation, survival sex, sex work and homelessness .To provide support to encourage service users where they are reluctant to engage. To support the team to build professional relationships with partner agencies. To signpost individuals to make best use of local resources and amenities, to make best use of local resources and amenities, to meet their health and welfare needs. To assist in the distribution of food parcels, goody bags, clothing, drinks and snacks etc. To log details of the outreach sessions for reporting purposes.
Requirements: Good communication and listening skills, a caring, sympathetic, sensitive manner and a non-judgemental approach .Ability to remain impartial and offer all different types of recovery support to people. Develop a robust knowledge of all services and options for people to access. Understanding of the complexities some of the individuals may face. Reliable, organised, consistent and have an ability to handle a level of stress and ability to respect and maintain confidentiality.
Location: Meeting and drop off point: The Workspace, All Saints Road, Wolverhampton WV2 1EL .This session is facilitated by car .You will be collected from and dropped off at the named location.
Hours: Required one session a week 7.45pm-11.15 (3.5 hours) Monday or Thursday (Sessions are set to increase so other week day evenings may be required)

CT Transport .

Social Interaction Facilitator

Opportunity: Supporting CT staff on the ‘Lets Chat’ project to meet and greet with members of the public, offer them tea and coffee and generally be willing and able to sit down and chat with people , offer them a friendly eat and with Training, be able to signpost them to other services that third party partners are offering . These activities are taking place in three ways:
Mobile Unit –A number of our minibuses are being converted, to allow space for chairs and table, a place to make hot beverages and information boards containing information about local service .Across the week these mobile units will visit a number of pre-determined places within the local community and park up for a number of hours, allowing members of the public to come on board, meet people and speak with representatives from several organisations offering their services. The purpose of this project is to reduce loneliness and Isolation for local residents. We are looking for volunteers to join us and participate in this project by meeting people and providing a friendly ear to listen and to join in conversation. The same service is being offered in static bus station buildings and generally across our Passenger Service.
Requirements: Friendly outgoing, sympathetic, a good listener.
Location: The project is set across three main areas, which are Coventry, Mid-Birmingham and the Black Country .The Black country will encompass Wolverhampton, Dudley and Sandwell.
The mobile units will travel around the Black Country on set days
Station sites in Dudley and West Bromwich .Our Passenger service locations vary.
Hours: The Lets Chat project is operational between Monday-Saturday and the hours of 08.30-6.30pm.
Expenses: Yes Out of pocket travel expense will be paid.

There will be induction and Training on certain elements to assist with the role. Specific Training to be determined

Livin Lives : Womens Group Assistant

Volunteer needed to assist group leader with coffee mornings and women’s group sessions.
Opportunity : Tasks include preparing and serving refreshments, meet and greet ladies as they arrive, display paperwork and information needed for sessions, participate in most group sessions where possible.
Groups sessions include Mother support sessions, Health and Well being, Arts & Crafts and more which will be discussed at interview.
Requirements: A friendly, empathetic, caring, good listener, none-judgemental and patient person would be ideal for this position.
Location: Low Hill Community Hub, Kempthorne Avenue, Wolverhampton WV10 9JJ.
Hours: Fridays 11.00am -3.00pm
