Family Help Advocate
Opportunity: Family Help Advocate Advocates will support families before, during and after Child Protection meetings, ensuring the voices of parents and children are heard. Before meeting, Advocate will explain the process and provide families with detailed information about the structure of the meeting, the agenda and key points will be discussed and ensuring parents understand their rights and procedures. During meeting, representing parents’ views and speaking on their behalf if needed. Clarifying jargon or complex information, ensuring parents vices are heard and offer reassurance and emotional support. After meeting, helping parents review outcomes and understand decisions, supervised by staff support families considering next steps, continuing to engage with families via follow up support and access additional information. | |
Requirements: A friendly and approachable personality, Basic IT Skills, a good level of English speaking, reading and writing with good verbal communication skills . Speaking a language or languages in addition to English is desirable, but not essential. | |
Location: RMC Walsall Office, involves travel throughout area of Walsall | |
